Consignors must emotionally detach from their items in 2 ways: (1) Consignors should make a pile of clothes they keep for memories and then emotionally detach from the rest that they want to sell and (2) Consignors need to emotionally detach from the original price they paid for an item. For a consignor to sell the majority of their inventory, they must "price to sell"! "Pricing to sell" means they are selling their items (mainly clothes) 50-70% of the retail price. More expensive items (bassinets, outdoor playhouses, baby swings, etc.) can sell very well at 25-45% off the retail price. Clothing has more "competition", so consignors have to price more aggressively these items!
