A great way to get your tagging done is to throw a Tagging Party! Invite over a few friends who are also consigning for a night of fun, laughter and TAGGING! You can also "divide and conquer"! Some people like to iron, whereas another person likes to neatly bag smaller items (i.e. bibs, baby hats, onesies, etc.) Having friends around makes everything TWICE as nice!
Battery operated items being consigned must have working batteries. The batteries do not need to be new or a brand name. Consignors can use partially used batteries from other toys or electonics that they are keeping. For example, if you need 2 AA batteries, the consignor can take the ones from their TV remote for the item they are selling and then use 2 new batteries for their TV remote. The consignor can also buy inexpensive batteries from a dollar store or other discount store. Happy tagging and prepping items!
Buyers are more likely to purchase items that still have their original packaging and/or owner manuals. If the boxes were not saved, you can place spare parts and manuals in a Ziploc bag and then zip tie that bag to the item. It is small extra steps like this that help to increase your chances of selling your items!
One great way to build your hanger collection is to save the hangers that come with your children's outfits. Also, many retail stores have an abundance of children's hangers that they will give a customer for free (all you have to do is ask!) In addition, you can always ask your friends via social media if they have any extras that they are willing to give/sell you!
If you still need more hangers, you can always buy them inexpensively from dollar stores, Target, Walmart, etc.
When you're cleaning out your kid's closets and playrooms, save their old toys and clothes for the Spring Sales! You can turn those gently used items into extra money!
Presentation is everything! The better it looks, the better it sells! Iron clothes that are wrinkled, thoroughly clean your toys and shoes, package your spare parts in a visible bag so the buyer is confident that they are getting everything they need, etc. Original packaging is ideal (but not always feasible!) If you ever have questions on how to package your items, please send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org
A great way to recycle and save money is to reuse curtain packages, sheet packages, comforter set packages, pillow bags, etc. to package groupings of toys, spare parts, onsies. and so on! They are extremely sturdy and look nice to a buyer!
Use painters tape to bundle books together. It will keep them secure and damage free!
